ViTraS project @ BR

Obesity is a growing disease of our society with far-reaching consequences for physical and mental health. An inaccurate perception of one’s own organism (body perception) and a resulting deficient body image can impair the success of the treatment. The ViTraS project offers an opportunity to encounter this problem of body perception via photorealistic, modified avatars in a virtual mirror system. In the interviews with BR Fernsehen and Bayern 2, Prof. Latoschik and Prof. Wienrich present the current system structure and explain the underlying psychological mechanisms that ViTraS addresses.
